Research and development projects include the local adaptation of traffic counting technologies, the use of video imaging technologies in transportation management, and the application of complex transportation modelling and simulation software.
Current research aims at increasing public transport modal split by applying the latest technologies. Most recent research projects include the innovative application of information technologies, relational databases and decision support systems.

Most important input data source of transportation planning in general, and transportation modelling in particular, are transportation surveys. The company has significant experience ranging from traffic counts through roadside interviews, to well as large scale household interviews. Many years of experience helped to assume a prominent role in this specialty, requiring extensive specialized knowledge and field experience.
Data is stored in relational and geodatabases, enabling transferability between various software and multiple data use.

The company plays a leading role in the application of internationally accredited transportation planning software in Hungary. Professionals regularly participate in user conferences to aquire the latest modelling techniques. Practically all widely used software package are used in house, including EMME2, CUBE, VISUM and VISSIM.
Main scope of work includes complex urban transportation modelling, mode choice modelling, vehicle and pedestrian simulation. Current development effort is toward the establishment of a national multi-modal transportation model. Another interesting aspect of modelling is forecasting future transportation demand. Traffic forecasts are prepared for several decades on the bases of demographic, economic, and vehicle ownership data, taking into account land use and transportation network developments.

Strategic transportation plans are prepared at neighborhood, district, metropolitan, regional and national level. As part of the strategic planning, development strategies, priorities and optimal resource allocation are determined. In conceptual planning, public and private transport strategies are formulated, issues are discussed with stakeholders, interests are harmonized and approval is provided.
Most important components of transport strategies are the priority of environment friendly modes of transportation, sustainable development, encouragement of non-motorzed transport modes, and public approval.

Urban rail-based system planning includes network development, stations, transfer facilites, and service improvement. In tune with local needs, road-based planning activites cover conceptual and detailed planning of bus terminals and intermodal facilties in Budapest and in the rural cities.
The company participates in the preliminary and detailed planning of publicly and privately funded projects as the general planner, with close cooperation with urban planners, and transportation planning specialists.

Operations planning, covering the entire spectrum of the specialty, follows international practice and latest innovations. Traffic patterns and conditions are examined in a given roadway segment in support of local planning tasks or in specific studies. Traffic safety, speed and capacity data are used for planning as well as the development of transportation modelling and simulation procedures.
Planning activities include local projects (traffic signal control, priority of public transportation), temporal and permanent plans, traffic calming, network wide measures, implementation support (parking controll, central traffic managemenet, public transport telematics, priority measures in public tranportation).

Widespread activies in support of high rise building plans and urban redevelopment. Products range from the transportation documents in support of architectural plans, transportation impact studies of large scale service, office, commercial and recreational centers, as well as urban and regional transportation plans and concepts. Participation in the complex planning of cummunities and districts, taking into consideration the urban development concepts when preparing land use and tranportation plans.
As a consortium member, or in case of large projects, as the general planner, transportation planning activities include the development of public transport systems, water-based systems, pedestrian and bicycle systems.
